Andrew Winnefeld, MDAll Family Practice Physicians

Dr. Andrew Winnefeld considers our aging population a treasure. He has extensive experience treating and caring for geriatric patients, including some World War II veterans. A true honor he says, about the experience. As a family medicine physician, he practices whole family healthcare but says his passion for patient treatment lies in the unique needs of caring for our elderly and aging folks.

Originally from Ohio, Dr. Winnefeld was raised on a farm and considers his first patients to be cows. While he wasn’t following in anyone’s medical footsteps, he had a strong desire to help people, and with that came acceptance into Northeastern Ohio Medical University. He completed his residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania.

His approach to medicine and patient treatment evaluates risks against the benefits of medications and treatments, using scientific-based evidence to support the decisions of care. He also has an interest in dermatology, treating weight loss, and preventative care.

Personal Interests
Long-distance running, bowling, and disk golf top the activities Dr. Winnefeld enjoys in his off time. He and his family moved to western Colorado to be closer to his wife’s family.
