Coming into the emergency department with a mystery illness is exactly the challenge Dr. Eric Frankel thrives on. He describes his passion for medical education and how diagnosing and treating what begins as an unknown ailment in a patient fills his metaphorical professional work bucket. He has been caring for emergent patients in the Grand Valley for nearly 10 years and for 15 years as a board-certified emergency medicine physician in Colorado.

The road that brought him to Western Colorado started on the west coast, where he received his medical degree at the University of California in San Francisco. He then went on to complete his residency at the University of Rochester, New York, in 2007. When he isn’t solving medical mysteries, Dr. Frankelenjoys making memories with his family, especially in beautiful Western Colorado outdoors, as well as enjoying good music.
